ABOUT
After essentially spending the first twenty-four years of my life in
school, followed by another ten years as a college professor, I decided
it was time to get some traveling in. While I had traveled some when
I was younger (a good number of states along with some time in British
Columbia), I had never gone to the places I really wanted to
go. So after a five year relationship had ended and my teaching career
was established, I figured that it was time.
Besides teaching and traveling, I have published two collections of
poetry, In a Strange Land and Pagan Blues, with two
more in the works. I have written the lyrics to the songs "A Place
for Me" and "Wish for Tomorrow" recorded by Austin singer/songwriter
Kim Novak. A different version of the latter was also included on Raspberry
Silk's album Inner Voices.
I also once worked as a still photographer
for a made-for-TV monster movie and always travel with a copy of Herodotus' The Histories.
