ADDENDUM (December 2008)
The past two Decembers have found me returning to Tucson. Last year I did not bring a camera as I was nursing an injured ankle that I was hoping would be good enough to explore Peru on less than two weeks later. This winter I bring along my camera as the ankle is better and I haven't photographed anything since August.
We only had time this trip for a few photo opportunities. First was a run out to Oro Valley, where we took about a four mile hike in the Catalina State Park. Here I take my usual assortment of color
and black and white
shots, enjoying hiking without pain.
The morning I leave is overcast but we decide to take this lack of sunlight as a challenge and see what we can come up with in the Barrio Historico.
At one point we see what we can do with dim lighting and an entirely white structure.
We also come across a shrine,
one of many in the area.
One last stop in the Lost Barrio
sees a few photos snapped before it's onto a plane and back to a rainy southern California.
