DUSTY DECLINE

A long day of traveling. The dust during the past few days has given me a permanent minor sore throat and I haven't showered in days. Early into our departure we stop to photograph some yak, but I've already photographed my fair share of yak, so I just play observer for a change.

Take a few photos during the day. Most of the day is spent backtracking, so I have already photographed a lot of the terrain. Do have a picnic lunch in a field. I don't take any photos as I'm more interested in the food at the time. Afterward, we gather up what has gone unused and it is donated to the locals who have been watching us in fascination.

Spend the night in Sakya. The promise of a hot shower goes unfulfilled. I'd even settle for a lukewarm shower, but there is no hot water whatsoever. There are some incredible sights on the hill behind the hotel I am hoping to be able to photograph in the morning.
