UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Leave Lhasa headed for Shigatse, the second largest city in Tibet. We switch from a tour bus to Land Cruisers as the road is under construction in a lot of places, sometimes requiring off-roading to get around it. For our last night in Lhasa we went to a restaurant that featured a musical show. I get a little creative using a longer shutter speed to try to capture some motion with the dancers. Also had to time my shots between the ones where the Chinese in attendance would stand in front of the stage to get themselves in the shot. Om Mani Padme Hum.

In the morning we stop by an orphanage. We are given a tour and some of us leave donations. Many of the girls in our group want to take a Tibetan child home with them. Later we stop to see where some incense is being made.

In Shigatse, we have Tibetan style rooms, which prove to be the most comfortable so far. Our last bit of luxury before heading to Everest.
