LAST NIGHT IN TIBET
Sometimes you have to break the law in order to get a good photo. Fortunately,
another in my group agrees, so we both cross over a barbed-wire fence
to remove power lines from a view of some dunes.
Today is spent at Samye
Monastery.
To get there it is about an hour's drive, followed by an hour's boat
ride, followed by a half hour of off-roading
in a bus. Samye is Tibet's first monastery, dating back over 1200 years.
If you climb a hill behind Samye, you discover that it is shaped like
a mandala.
I make it about three-fourths up the hill when it dawns on
me that I was sick in bed only two days before, so I play it safe, take
some photos
from my elevated vantage point, then head back down.
Our last night in Tibet. A group of us hangs out for a while, though
some hang out far longer than others.
Everything must end
