NORTH TO SOUTH
Rabat, the capital of Morocco, is located on the Atlantic Ocean at the mouth of the river Bou Regreg. It is home to the Royal Palace,
one of the only locations in Morocco where one can legally photograph someone wearing a uniform. It is also home to Hassan Tower,
begun in 1195 and intended to be the largest minaret in the world. In 1199, sultan Yacoub al-Mansour died and construction on the mosque and minaret stopped. Interestingly, instead of stairs, the tower is ascended by ramps, allowing the muezzin to ride a horse to the top of the tower to issue the call to prayer.
In the morning it's a 4:30 wake-up call to drive to Tangier and catch the morning ferry to Tarifa, Spain. I snap a few photos from the ferry's small and windy viewing area
as we make the hour long crossing. After the border check, we head to Torremolinos for lunch. Located on the Costa del Sol of the Mediterranean, I get in a few photos
of the surrounding area.
In the evening we arrive in Granada.
Soon, the leggy blonde and I head out and get lost. During this outing we come across a protest, a half naked women in a shop, and two lesbians making out in front of another shop. Good times.
