SOUTH TO NORTH

After my siesta (some times it's good to go native), I head back into town to stretch my legs and snap several more photos. Just as I start to consider heading somewhere for dinner, I run into my leggy blonde and we head out together. While searching for a location she'd seen earlier in the day, we come across the city's walls, which first fortified the city in 1135 under Almoravid sovereignty.

The morning starts the journey south to Morocco. We take the ferry from Algeciras to Ceuta, an autonomous city of Spain located on the North African side of the Strait of Gibraltar. It's about a five minute drive to the official border crossing into Morocco, where my passport is stamped and a "police number" is assigned, which is required by hotels and campsites.

Our first stop in Morocco is Tetuoan, the only open port of Morocco. Here I snap a few photos while stretching my legs. On the windy road to Fez, I pass the time by taking a few photos from the bus, complete with window smudges and reflections. That, and copious amounts of Porcupine Tree streaming through my iPod.
