THE ROAD TO CHIHUAHUA

After a morning of exploring, we begin the journey to Chihuahua. Before leaving, we head back to the outlook at Divisadero as this will be our last look at the canyons. I take some photos of the canyons along with a couple shots of the natives. I have been reluctant to photograph them but know they come to this area to sell their wears and are more receptive to outsiders here. I'm still also upset with myself for not having my camera the night before.

On the way to Chihuahua we make a few stops. At one there is a mission that I cross the street to photograph. As with China and Tibet, I'm not sure that anyone or anything has the right of way when crossing streets, so I'm quick about it. I cross with a fellow who has been to Machu Picchu, which I've been seriously considering going to for Christmas. I ask him lots of details and he assures me that I should go.

At dinner we have a mariachi band, our third of the trip if my total is right. I'm able to get rid of my remaining pesos with the help of their tip jar. While they are quite good, I'm enchanted with the girl making guacamole at our table. I'm contemplating proposing marriage and moving down here when I come to my senses.
