AND LOTS OF WATER

At the Waterfall Gardens, we begin by entering a bird watching area. This is followed by a visit to the butterfly observatory, though not only butterflies catch my eye. Then it is on to the waterfalls. First up is El Templo, followed by Magia Blanca, the largest and most powerful of the falls. Lastly, we catch a view of the La Paz Waterfall on our way out.

To end our day, it's a boat ride on the Sarapiquí River, encompassed by lowland tropical rainforest. After the cruise, while others get in some last minute souvenir shopping, I take some photos of the surrounding Puerto Viejo. It's then an extremely long bus ride, including two transfers, back to Alajuela, followed by dinner and a taxi home.

In the morning my host family takes me to the airport where I fly into Miami, bringing my summer travels full circle. Not knowing when I am going to be able to travel again, I am glad I have been able to fit so much into this summer, though it has been tiring.

To all who have traveled with me along the way and to my host family: ¡Pura Vida!
