LEYDI AND THE TRAMP

Today is a day of travel. We start in Carrillos Alto, where we also visit a clinic that some ICLC students have interned at, while others have been treated there. On our way to downtown Alajuela, I take a few bus photos along the way. In Alajuela I take several assorted photos.

Then it's a visit to the Sr. Y Sra. Ese wood factory, whose grounds are picturesque and some of its creations are amazing. We tour the facilities before making our way to the giftshop, where most of my purchases for this trip are made.

After lunch it's a visit to INBio Park, a private research and biodiversity management center, established in 1989 to support efforts to gather knowledge on Costa Rica's biological diversity and promote its sustainable use. There are some interesting sculptures as you first enter the park. Our guide, Leydi, leads us down a trail that includes both a rain forest and dry forest, among several other diverse ecosystems. Unshaven and damp from the humidity, I feel right at home.
