BACK TO THE LOWER FORTY-EIGHT
Our last full day is a day at sea. The view from the balcony
is mostly miles and miles of miles and miles, so no photos. I spend the day relaxing--listening
to music, writing, and reading Herodotus (who travels the world with
me). Before dinner it's off to the Havanna Club. The thought was to ring in my last night at sea with a cigar and a glass of cognac, but my plans are one-upped as I am joined by a family intent on smoking the Cuban cigars they purchased in Canada before they can be confiscated by US Customs. So we sit around smoking their cigars and I replace my intended cognac was a glass of Johnnie Walker Blue Label. After a late dinner I finish
packing and am ready to disembark in the morning.
Next day it's back to Seattle, then a flight back to Ontario. While some luggage is temporarily lost, it is another uneventful flight (excepting the ever-crying baby two rows up) and I am back home before sunset. I have a few
days to relax and then it's back on the road. I guess I should look up the flight details for that trip now that this one has come to an end.
