. . . AND BY SEA
Well, the couch unfolds into an incredibly hard bed. Makes
me think of my accommodations in Tibet. Actually, it's not too bad. I
take a few photos
when I first get up.
A day at sea, so I sleep in then make my way down for an early lunch.
Then I attend a lecture on Alaskan glaciers. Between the speaker's soft,
monotone voice and the gentle rocking of the ship, I get incredibly
tired. So a nap follows. All that's outside my window is miles of ocean,
so no photos.
Tonight being the voluntary "dress up" night, I think about
the days of transatlantic voyages when passengers would bring along
tuxedos and evening dresses and the gentlemen would meet after dinner
for cognac and cigars. I haven't worn a tuxedo in years and didn't bring
one along for the trip as they are usually not called for in the places
I typically travel to.
I attempt a few creative low light shots from my balcony, but they
don't turn out.
